The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team kicked off 2026 with high hopes, big expectations and good morale. The Rams have started the season with a 3-3 record, improving with each game and hungry for more competition.
“Overall, the season is off to a strong start,” senior captain Nick Cirella said. “The team’s morale remains very high despite our ups and downs. Everyone is engaged and focused on earning our way back to states after missing it last year.”
The promising current record has reinvigorated the Rams, who finished their 2025 campaign at 3-13. That disappointing record did not show the whole picture, however, as Randolph played highly competitive games against top teams in the state.
The 2026 team is led by senior captains Justin Novak, Cirella, Cole Miller and Mark Manolis and junior captain Ryan Barnett.
“We have made a lot of progress on a more successful season and are staying focused,” Novak said. “And we are all looking forward to keeping morale high and getting to states.”
The team has a lot of depth, with many varsity players returning: seniors Trevor Cuonzo, Connor Decker, Gavin Vetter, Matthew DeVos, Nick Forde, juniors Jonathan Ford, Everett Palumbo, Ricky Fleischer, Lorenzo DeFinis, Ethan Pasia and Anthony Santoro.
“This season means a lot to us since this will be our last season putting on a Randolph jersey and playing with each other, so I know a lot of the boys go out every day and give it their all,” Manolis said.
The Rams believe that their window for a championship has reopened, and they are eager to win it. With 10 collegiate commits, the team is aiming higher than ever, reflecting the stacked roster.
“As the Randolph Boys Lacrosse team, we have been playing well together and showing big improvement from last year while still working to get better in different parts of the game,” Miller said. “Going forward, we’re hungry to win and ready to put in the work to have a much more successful season.”
“While still improving in various aspects of the game, we’re taking a big leap from last year starting off with a few strong wins,” Barnett said. “That being said, the season means a lot, and the team is hungry for success and a better season than last year.”
Six games into the season, with a 3-3 record, although the Rams have lost three games, they have lost by at most four goals against those teams. They look to reach over .500, as they face Morris Knolls on Thursday, April 8, at 4 P.M.
