A total of 385 members of the RHS Class of 2026 and their dates donned tuxedos and dresses for their final high school dance on Friday, May 29. Senior prom was held at Meadow Wood in Randolph, New Jersey, an elegant venue that provided a memorable evening filled with great food, music and celebration.
The event received rave reviews from students.
“Senior Prom went by so quickly as we danced, ate and talked with our friends throughout the night, and that made it an unforgettable experience,” senior Allyson Galloza said.
In the weeks leading up to prom, seniors took part in pre-prom activities, including promposals, tuxedo and dress shopping, and posting “prom transition” videos with their dates.
On prom day, seniors were called to the auditorium before lunch for the annual pre-prom meeting before heading off to prepare for the evening.
After getting ready, students gathered at their friends’ houses for pre-prom pictures before meeting at RHS to board buses to the venue. Once there, they kicked off the night with a happy hour featuring a variety of appetizers.
“The happy hour food was tasty,” senior Christopher Antico said. “I liked the mac and cheese and wings.”
When happy hour ended, students were invited onto the dance floor, which quickly filled as their favorite songs echoed throughout the venue.
After dancing, students enjoyed an extensive dinner selection that included Italian favorites—penne vodka, meatballs and eggplant parmigiana—Asian-inspired dishes—dumplings, shrimp and sesame chicken—and a meat carving station.
“The food was good, and there was plenty to choose from,” senior Luke De Nigris said.
When dinner ended, most students returned to the dance floor, where they celebrated with friends until prom ended at 10 p.m.
By all accounts, the evening ran smoothly, thanks in part to the efforts of the chaperones.
“The most successful part of the prom was watching students celebrate and interact with each other in a genuine way,” Class of 2026 advisor Vincent Verteramo said.
The 2026 Senior Prom was a blast for the attendees and one last hurrah before graduation on Thursday, June 11.
