A whopping eight RHS senior athletes reached a phenomenal milestone on Feb. 9, 2026, officially signing their letters of intent to continue playing the sports they love at the collegiate level.
Signing Day means more to athletes than just putting pen to paper. It represents their success as high school athletes and determination to compete at the highest level as they take their talents to college programs across the country.
Here’s a look at the seniors who made their commitments official:
- Jackson Magley committed D3 to Hobart College for football. “I chose Hobart because it felt like a place where I could grow in a close-knit community,” he said. “The football team was a group of guys who made me feel at home.”
- Hayley Arigo committed D3 to Montclair State University for softball: “I chose Montclair for softball because the school is close to home,” she said. “I love the campus, and I have already bonded with the girls on the team.”
- Joey Sommer committed D3 to Tufts University for football: “I chose Tufts University for its prestigious education, vibrant urban environment and strong alumni network,” he said. “I felt a true sense of family within the program.”
- Cassidy Smith committed D1 to Army West Point for softball: “I chose to commit to Army because I fell in love with the school on my visit,” she said. “I loved the idea of being able to serve my country while also getting the chance to play softball.”
- Sydney Wright committed D1 to Rider University for swim: “I chose Rider because of the balance between academics and athletics,” she said. “I was looking for a supportive coach that could help me grow in the next four years.”
- Alexandra Romero committed D1 to Iona University for rowing: “I liked Iona because it filled all of my criteria: small school, Catholic and not too far from home,” she said. “I wanted to incorporate fitness and commitment in my life to provide structure in my schedule.”
- Kennan Byers committed D1 to Boston University for track and field.
- Kayleigh McClain committed D3 to SUNY Purchase for softball.
Stay on the lookout for more commitments as RHS seniors prepare to finish their high school careers strong and take the next step in their athletic journeys.
