RHS hallways have become a daily runway, showcasing comfortable yet trendy looks inspired by social media and popular clothing brands. For teenage girls, self-expression is important, and many show it through their clothes. This year, girls’ fashion at RHS is centered on individuality, blending popular brands, digital inspiration and bold color choices.
Social media continues to play a major role in influencing new fashion trends. Pinterest remains a top platform, allowing teenage girls to find, create and save outfits they like. “I like to use Pinterest to find clothes because there are a lot of good outfits,” freshman Ava Rivera said.
TikTok’s short-form videos make it easy to discover all types of new styles, while Instagram lets girls follow fashion influencers and brands through posts and stories.
Among the most popular brands at RHS is Lululemon, known for its signature leggings and oversized hoodies, good for both working out and comfort. “I like Lululemon because their leggings are super comfortable, so they are good to wear every day,” senior Arianna Nunez said. “They come in a variety of different styles and colors.”
Other brands like Hollister and PacSun have made a resurgence with their Y2K-inspired lines including babydoll tops, miniskirts, baggy jeans and graphic T-shirts. Brandy Melville and Garage remain go-to spots for wide-leg sweatpants that suit all body types, as well as flared leggings with fold-over waistbands.
“My favorite things to buy from Brandy are definitely their sweatpants because they’re so comfortable and you can pair them with any top,” junior Jolina Weng said. “I also love shopping at Hollister because they have the cutest tops and I love their low-rise jeans.”
Footwear trends are just as noticeable in the hallways. Adidas has made a major comeback at RHS, with Campus 00s and Sambas becoming student favorites. Uggs remain a winter staple because they are both comfortable and stylish. Other trendy shoes include white On Clouds and Converse.
Girls also use different colors and patterns to reflect their personal style and complement their skin. Many prefer vibrant colors, while others gravitate toward neutral tones, depending on their personal aesthetic. Trendy patterns such as stripes, floral prints and polka dots are often incorporated into outfits to make them more stylish.
“I love the way different colors and patterns stand out and complement my skin tone,” freshman Camilla Martinez added.
As winter comes to an end, girls at RHS will be on the lookout for new spring-appropriate styles. No matter the season, students continue to use fashion as a way to express themselves, proving that at RHS, style is always in session.
