As the clock strikes midnight on Jan. 1, 2026, people around the world will celebrate a new year and reflect on the one they left behind. For many, this includes making—and hopefully keeping—New Year’s resolutions.
Rampage asked RHS students to share their resolutions for the year ahead, which ranged from getting good grades to trying new hobbies to slaying in sports. Based on their responses, it’s clear that 2026 is shaping up to be a year full of motivation and determination.
Academic Success
Many RHS students are prioritizing their studies in the new year. “I want to have all As and Bs in my classes,” freshman Olivia Walradt said. “Each day I’m going to try to review my notes for at least 15 minutes.”
Career and Personal Goals
Senior Ayden Suarez hopes to improve both his professional and personal life. “I want to find a better job, so I can make more money…and spoil my girlfriend.”
Renewed Religious Devotion
For some RHS students, faith is an important priority in the coming year. “My New Year’s resolution is to grow my relationship with God more and read the Bible more,” senior Gabriella Ball said. “Worshipping, too, will bring more peace and patience.”
Success in Sports
Athletes across RHS are setting ambitious goals for the year ahead. “I want to get 1% better at my sport every day,” freshman varsity wrestler Domenic Conte said.
Top athletes are also looking toward their futures beyond high school. “I want to get recruited to schools I can see myself at for the next four years,” junior soccer player and Division 1 hopeful Andrei Nitulescu said.
Sophomore soccer player Macie Wysocki echoed that sentiment. “I want to know where I’m going and be committed junior year,” she said.
Other students are focused on improving specific skills. “I want to improve my tumbling skills, especially the tuck,” junior cheerleader Alyssa Quatrone said.
All Kidding Aside…
Some resolutions came with a sense of humor. “I want to lose 200 pounds and be less rude to my boyfriend,” senior Anna Vardanidze joked. “Seriously, though, I want to be more motivated in school,” she added.
RHS students are clearly poised for their glow-ups in 2026, whether they be academic, athletic, spiritual or personal. Their resolutions hint at students’ determination and commitment, ensuring a motivated and productive year ahead.
Goodbye 2025 and hello to a brand-new year filled with fresh goals toward improved lives.
