With six returning starters and three college commits, the 2025-26 Baseball team is poised to bounce back after last year’s up-and-down season,
“We have a great group with 12 seniors and many returning players,” Kielbania said. “Our schedule is very challenging, but I fully expect us to be competitive in every game and have a strong season.”
The Rams kicked off their season this past weekend on Saturday, March 25, with a hard-fought 11-7 win over Pequannock in which Midolo had an outstanding game with 3.2 innings pitched and a home run.
Last season, Randolph was one of the youngest teams in the division, and ended with an 8-16 record and sixth-place finish in the NJAC-American division.
This season, however, the Rams will benefit from player continuity as most of the current players participated in at least one varsity game last season.
Those returning include senior shortstop Mason Wilson and senior second baseman Sal Midolo, forming one of the strongest middle infield duos in the state. Seniors Nick Armento, Chase Lorent, Eli Kahn, Matthew Bruun, Joey Bosotina, Justin Panucci and Jack Kielbania will also bring their experience to the team.
With Penn State D1 commit Wilson; Dartmouth D1 commit Lorent; and St. Thomas Aquinas D2 commit Midolo leading the charge, Randolph boasts a talented squad.
Rounding out the returning players are juniors Matthew Paladino, Joey Paladino, Brendan Stokoe and Paul Posterino and sophomores Andrew Swanick and Ethan Shire.
Joining the varsity roster are several new players who are eager to make an impact, including seniors Jackson Magley, John DeBruycker and Dario Tucci.
Midolo, who’s playing a new position as second baseman this year, is also stepping into a new leadership role as he will be the third captain alongside Lorent and Wilson.
“My expectations for the season are the seniors showing leadership and bringing energy to every game,” Midolo said. “That should lead to success against this tough schedule.”
Among other notable returners is junior starting pitcher M. Paladino, who emerged as the leader of the pitching staff last year, boasting a 3.59 ERA in a team-leading 52.2 innings.
With many returning faces, the Rams have high hopes this season to compete for another championship. Players are embracing the opportunity to compete at the highest level and help continue Randolph’s winning tradition.
Randolph will look to continue racking up wins as they travel to Watchung Hills Tuesday, March 31, for their second game of the season.
