Sports Brief: Boys Hockey Beats Clock to Win Season Opener Against Knolls

The Rams boys hockey team beat Morris Knolls, 3-2, with less than a minute left in an exciting home opener, played at Mennen Arena on Friday night, Dec. 9.

Sophomore Drew George scored first for the Rams. Next, sophomore Jase Zangara scored his second of two goals right before the clock ran out to give the team the win.

Both of Zangara’s goals were assisted by senior Zach Gallo, and George’s goal was unassisted.

Goalie Connor Thomas faced 15 shots and saved 13.

All in all, it was a great season-opening performance by the Rams.

Fans can look forward to more exciting play when the Rams face off against Madison High School at Mennen Sports Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 5:45 p.m.
