The Randolph Rams Boys Basketball team enters the 2025-2026 season determined to bounce back after last year’s rough 9-18 campaign. With three of the top five scorers returning, the Rams are poised for improvement.
Assistant coach Jacob Torsiello expressed confidence in the Rams for this upcoming season. “Our expectations are high for this team,” he said. “We believe that with our roster, we can compete for a conference title and make a run in the county tournament.”
A returning trio of starters will be key to the Rams’ success this season. They are senior captains Jack Leonard and Tristan Durkin, along with Ryan Warner, the top scorer from last season.
“We’re going to be a lot better at spacing the floor, as we have a squad that can really shoot the ball,” junior Luken Biggan said. “Our defensive focus and overall team focus has improved since last season.”
The Rams are determined to establish a winning culture as they look to focus on a fast-paced game with a tight-knit group of guys. The team believes that strong team chemistry and trust in each other are key to a successful season.
“My biggest expectations and goals for this year are mainly to work hard as much as possible and always play as a team,” Durkin said. “Last year wasn’t what we wanted it to be, and I know that this year is going to be great with a great group of guys who are all going to make a great Randolph basketball season.”
The 2025-2026 squad features seniors Luke Denigris and Kristian Foote; juniors Ricky Fleischer, Cooper Tighe and Ryan Barnett; sophomores Jordan Dixon and Noah Yissachar; and freshman Matt Zamloot. The team will look to these and other key players to help fill the void left by graduates Jackson Smith and Phil Zamloot, who accounted for 25 percent of the Rams’ points last season.
The Rams hope to start their season off strong at Mount Olive, today, Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
