With a year of hard-earned experience behind them, the 2025-2026 Boys and Girls Fencing teams return to the strip more focused, prepared and determined than ever. Looking back at last season, the Rams gained confidence through several strong bouts against teams like Mendham (Boys: 20-7, Girls: 14-13) and Hackettstown (Boys: 21-6, Girls: 22-5), showing strength and growth across both teams.
“Personally, I’ve been working hard in the off season, as have many of our members, and we are excited to start the season strong,” senior Andrew Walker said.
After graduating several key members, the boys team faces the challenges of rebuilding its lineup, while returning veterans provide the leadership needed to build their team with several new starting members ready to make their mark.
Meanwhile, the girls team enters the season confident in its skill, and believes it has a strong, capable team ready to win.
“The season has just begun; we have a lot of promising athletes, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone develop and step into their potential,” said senior Cassidy Chaudhari, returning girls saber captain. “I want to help build confidence and create a team culture where everyone feels supported and motivated.”
Alongside returning veterans, many new fencers have joined the team this season. “I’m really looking forward to this season, especially as a senior,” Walker added. “We lost a lot of key members last year, but we are going to work hard and have a great season.”
With this combination of experience and fresh talent, leadership has focused on drills, conditioning and fine-tuning technique during captains’ practices.
Guiding the team through practices, matches and tournaments, and helping both veterans and newcomers improve are the Rams’ three coaches—Adam Dorfman, Brittnie Kuschke and Mark Kuschke—who play a pivotal role in developing skills and fostering discipline.
With a blend of experienced leaders and fresh talent, both teams are focused on bringing their best to each bout. Their dedication and determination will be on full display as they take on opponents, one meet at a time.
The Rams are getting ready to face their first opponent, West Morris/Mendham, on their own strip on Dec. 15, 2025.
