Mystery, murder and mayhem will take center stage as the RHS Drama Club presents “Clue: High School Edition,” from Thursday, Nov. 20 through Saturday, Nov. 22 in the high school auditorium.
Performances will be held at 7 p.m. each evening, with a Saturday matinee at 1 p.m.
Based on the 1985 comedy-mystery film and classic Parker Brothers board game, the production follows six guests and two servants at a dinner party where secrets—and bodies—quickly begin to pile up. The group must work together to solve the murders, uncovering who did it, where, and with what weapon, just like in the game.
As opening night approaches, cast members shared their thoughts on the show.
“I am definitely excited about all the bonds we are going to make, because having a small cast means having a small family,” said junior Libby Cooper, who plays Wadsworth, the butler. “I know it is going to be really funny, and people are going to love it.”
Sophomore Samantha Walker, who plays Miss Scarlet, echoed those sentiments. “I love doing the shows at Randolph, not only because I like performing and I like theater but because I’ve made a lot of friends here and really like the community,” she said.
The production is directed by Jeorgi Smith Herring, who made her RHS directing debut last year.
When asked what excites her most about the production, Smith Herring said, “Probably the trickery of it all—getting to do all the fun bits with little fake-out moments and spooky moments that make people jump out of their seats.”
An understudy performance will take place on Nov. 22, giving backup cast members the opportunity to take center stage. The other three shows will feature the main cast. If a lead actor is unable to perform, an understudy will step in to ensure the show goes on.
