Randolph Rams Cheer successfully overcame roadblocks to complete the 2025 fall season with outstanding performances on the sidelines under the Friday night lights.
“I thought our season was the most fun yet, and our cheerleaders genuinely enjoyed themselves this year,” senior captain Katie Ellermeyer said.
Roadblocks ranged from cheerleader injuries to lagging student attendance at games, in light of a struggling season for Rams Football.
The girls overcame the first challenge by sticking together throughout the healing process and helping each other bounce back afterward.
And despite this year’s low fan turnout, the cheerleaders never failed to perform with big smiles and even bigger energy, doing their part to keep student spirit and school culture alive.
“Everyone needs to step up their game and make the Friday night lights student section fun again,” freshman Sarah Stein said.
The girls’ season started with summer training, when they attended a four-day-long camp in Pennsylvania, sponsored by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), where they learned advanced skills and new routines.
“UCA cheer camp was the perfect outing to bond with my teammates and create lifelong memories,” freshman Alejandrina Rodrigez reflected.
Another challenge for the girls this fall season was losing key seniors to graduation last June, which depleted much of the team’s leadership. Still, in true cheer fashion, the squad made the best of it.
“I felt like our halftime didn’t showcase the full potential of our team,” Ellermeyer stated. “However, it still looked good and was easy to perform.”
As the fall 2025 season ended, the girls prepared to transition to winter, which will include cheering on popular sports teams like basketball and entering competitions.
Despite the transition, fond memories of the fall still lingered. “I felt like it was really fun this year,” senior captain Sami Schachter said. “All the girls made strong connections and got really close and for every game, we came with energy and had a lot of fun.”
