The Lady Rams Softball team started off the 2024 season strong, going 5-2 as of press time, with recent wins against Ridgewood (5-0), Morristown (6-0), Montville (10-0), Mount Olive (5-4) and Colonia (11-1).

This comes after moving up a conference following last year’s impressive 20-5 season.

This season, despite losing seven valued senior players to graduation last year, both team spirit and commitment remain high, with players expressing their desire for a thriving season like they’ve had in seasons past. It helps that his year’s team is buoyed by the strength of returning seniors Lindsey Kudriavetz, Samantha Niewiarowski and Jailynn Vega.

“We have a younger team this season, composed mostly of juniors and sophomores,” senior co-captain Lindsey Kudriavetz said. “However, we are incredibly close, and I think that our chemistry carrying over from last season with additions this season will make our team very successful.”

“We lost a lot of our starters last year to graduation,” junior co-captain Autumn Liebhauser added, “but our returners and newcomers are motivated to fill their shoes and have a successful season.”

“This season I hope for the team to be as or even more successful than we were last year,” co-captain Hannah Bermudez said. “We are an incredibly strong program and we have been playing together for years. I want to go as far as we can and live up to the potential that I know this team can reach.”

Based on past performances and this year’s impressive roster, no one is doubting the team’s odds of success going forward. Whatever the outcome, the close-knit players will continue to stick together and stay strong for the duration of the upcoming season.
