The Rams were on the hunt for redemption on Saturday night, Feb. 10, at Mennen Arena after losing to Morristown Beard in their last meeting. The Rams came in focused and got the job done, winning 5-2, landing them a coveted spot in the Mennen Cup Final.

The first period was quiet for both sides as neither team scored. The Rams dominated the first, however, as they were able to put up 17 shots and keep the Crimson to only 2 shots.

Halfway through the second period, the Rams struck first as Jacob Campbell scored with an assist from Jase Zangara. Three minutes later the Rams struck again as Zangara found the back of the net with an assist from Drew George. The Rams controlled most of the second period until the Crimson scored, making it a one-goal game. That didn’t matter to Jacob Campbell as he scored his second goal of the game with assists from Zangara and Ryan Potanovich. As the momentum started to swing back into the Rams favor, Ashton Feinberg scored with 0.4 seconds left to send the Rams into the third up 4-1.

Early into the third period the Crimson struck to make it a two-goal game. The Rams were able to hold off the Crimson for the rest of the period as they didn’t score again. Morristown Beard had an empty net in an effort to score again, but Zangara brought the puck down and put it in the net with an assist from Brian Cislo to send the Rams to the Mennen Cup finals.

The Rams will face off against Chatham at the final on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
