The RHS Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) with support from the Key Club will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the high school Commons.

“The blood drive is a great way for a community to come together for the common cause of supporting those in need,” said Lindsay Reilly, the dean of students.

All members of the high school community who meet the following criteria are invited to donate:

  • Weigh at least 110 pounds
  • Bring ID
  • Eat a meal before donating
  • Drink plenty of water before and after donating
  • Are at least 16 years of age. (Note: All 16 years olds need parental permission. Parental Consent Forms are available in the main office.)

The PTSO and Key Club are hoping to reach a goal of at least 50 units of blood donated. “We may not always know or see the people we are helping, but donating blood is a selfless way to make an impact,” Reilly said.
