The RHS choir will perform its annual POPtoberfest Choral Pops Concert 2025 on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the RHS auditorium.
The event will showcase students performing pop songs from a variety of artists, ranging from classic duos like Simon and Garfunkel to modern stars such as Olivia Rodrigo. Performances will include solos, duets and small group ensembles.
The song selection process for this year’s show began with auditions at the close of the 2024–2025 school year. Once auditions were complete, students submitted song choices for approval, with the requirement that each selection be originally performed by a solo artist or group. The concert is primarily student-run.
“I love watching my peers perform and seeing how hard they’ve worked to bring their performances to the stage,” sophomore Aaryan Raghavan said.
This year’s performing ensembles include the Symphonic Choir, made up of all choir members; the Treble Choir featuring freshmen and sophomore sopranos and altos; and the Concert Choir composed of upper classmen.
“POPtoberfest is great, especially for the freshmen, because it is our first concert all together as a choir,” sophomore Andrew Tramposch said. “They get to experience what it is like to have a concert in the high school.”
“Performing at POPtoberfest was amazing,” added sophomore Aidan Danner, reflecting on his freshman-year performance “It was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
