Despite ongoing renovations at Bauer Field delaying the team’s home debut, Randolph Field Hockey is entering the 2025 season and showing resilience and focus in early practices.
Senior captains Bowie Manning and Jillian Liebhauser, along with junior captain Allison Ferry, are leading the charge as the Rams adjust to changes in the roster and a new team dynamic.
“I’m so grateful to be a captain of this team,” Manning said. “Watching these girls work every day for the betterment of themselves and our program is such a gift. I plan to try my best to help lead the team into the successful season they deserve.”
The Rams are working to fill the void left by the graduation of key seniors including Rebecca Dasti, Lindsey Bona, Morgan Heller, Kayla Pentz, Jessa Altemose and junior Irene Pardo. However, returning players like Manning, midfielder Daniella Gizienski, and forwards Liebhauser and Avery Gamsby are expected to take on larger roles and make a major impact.
“I’m excited to see how the season progresses,” Gizienski added. “I know it’s going to be challenging with the loss of the seniors, but the team seems promising.”
A shout out also goes to freshman goalkeeper Mia Briganti, who has already shown strong potential during preseason scrimmages and is expected to start on varsity.
The program also underwent a major coaching transition. After 11 years as varsity head coach, Gina Adickes stepped down, passing the torch to Richard Salmon. Salmon brings energy and a fresh perspective as he leads the Rams into this new chapter.
“I’m really excited to help this amazing program,” Salmon said. “Randolph Field Hockey has a long tradition of providing a great experience for our student athletes. I will continue to further that positive athletic experience, develop great athletes, and impart lessons that they will carry for the rest of their lives.”
Randolph opens its season on Thursday, Sept. 4, with an away game against Morristown.
