Despite varsity Girls Lacrosse finishing with a 9-11 record in 2023-2024 and losing 12 seniors to graduation last June, the upcoming 2024-2025 season still looks promising, with a strong group comprised of both returners and new faces.
The new team will be focused on maintaining its competitive edge throughout a fierce schedule, with the girls feeling confident and determined to work together and come out on top this year.
“This team has been focused and improving every day and shows that they are ready to put in the work to be successful,” head coach Jillian Picciuto said.
The returners are seniors Abbey Narcise and Giuliana Pozzi; juniors Natalia Donato, Katie Ellermeyer, Kathleen Saltz, Amelia Kolbik and Lauren Kuridza; and sophomores Emma Gomez, Riley Minerley and Anabella Sharkey.
The varsity newcomers are juniors Katelyn Ford, Avery Liston, Avery Gamsby, Elizabeth Boyko and Lilianna Colasante. The sophomores are Olivia Theerman, Grace Theerman, Caroline Crane. The freshmen are Julia Manganiello, Leah Wiberg and Samantha Cerulo.
The girls face a competitive schedule, playing against teams such as West Morris, Morris Knolls, Mountain Lakes, Mount Olive, Sparta, Morristown, Madison and Westfield.
Leading the way for Randolph this season are captains Narcise, Pozzi and Donato. Their leadership and competitive drive will be key in guiding the team to success.
This season is shaping up to be a strong one with a determined roster ready to take the next step. Returners bring experience while new talent adds depth and energy to the lineup.
“Our team is very diverse this year with a lot of talent spread across every grade,” Pozzi said. “Both the under and upper class will be making an impact on and off the field this year.”
With its improved chemistry and focus on execution, the team is poised for a breakout year. “I am super excited to play on such a competitive and hardworking team this year,” Pozzi added.
