With the 2024 presidential election now upon us, RHS seniors who’ve reached the age of 18 will have the opportunity to vote in it for the first time in their lives. Rampage asked some of them to share how they intended to participate on this exciting election day, today, Tuesday, Nov. 5. The majority said they believed their vote mattered, and it was important that they take part in the election.
“I believe that voting is important when you have an opportunity, so that there can be improvements in the country,” senior Mia Ball said.
Added senior Belinda Carcamo, “I want to be able to make a change in the country by participating in this election.”
Seniors who were not yet of voting age expressed regret over not being able to go to the polls. “I’m concerned with the future of this nation,” 17-year-old senior Jaden Solotoff said. “I want to do something to change things, but I can’t.”
Randolph offers plenty of places for voters both young and old to cast their ballots today, including the Randolph Firehouse, Randolph Community Centerand Randolph Municipal Building.
As for those RHS seniors not quite old enough to vote in today’s election, they can look forward to voting in upcoming local and state elections, which will allow even the younger members of the Class of 2025 to immerse themselves in politics and voice their opinions as well.
