RHS held its annual Spirit Week from Monday, Oct. 7 to Friday, Oct. 11. Spirit Week allows students and staff to show off their school spirit by dressing up and participating in events throughout the week, culminating in the homecoming game and pep rally.
Every year, RHS selects a charity to donate to. This year, the school raised nearly $8,000 in total for Henry’s Loving Team, a charity dedicated to helping families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer.
“I love how Spirit Week not only instills pride in us but also unites us as we raise money for an important charity,” sophomore Kayla Hudak said.
Here’s are this year’s Spirit Week highlights.
Monday: Pajama Day
On Monday, Oct. 7, students started off the week feeling comfy with Pajama Day. Both students and staff showed off their Ram pride by wearing sweatpants and slippers, with some even bringing blankets to school. This relaxing start set a positive tone for the week ahead.
“I love wearing pajamas, so wearing them on Monday with everyone was so fun,” sophomore Abby Bentley said.
Tuesday: Jersey Day
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, students teamed up against bullying, wearing sports jerseys for professional and high school teams and clubs. The display of team spirit spread unity throughout the school.
“I liked Jersey Day because I thought it was cool seeing what teams other people follow,” sophomore Caylie Aguado said.
Wednesday: Pink Out
Wednesday, Oct. 9, was dedicated to Pink Out, where students wore pink to show support for breast cancer awareness.
“My favorite dress-up day was Pink Out, for sure,” sophomore Kyara Lopez said. “It really brought us all together.”
Based on homeroom tallies, by the end of Wednesday, RHS juniors came in first for the most dress-up participation over the first three days, with sophomores close behind, then freshman and, finally, seniors in last place.
Thursday: USA Day
Thursday, Oct. 10, was USA Day, where students and staff wore red, white and blue, displaying their patriotic pride through clothing and accessories.
“USA day was my favorite because everyone went all out,” senior Kisa Mulondo said.
At the end of the day, juniors remained in first place, followed by seniors, with sophomores and freshman in third and fourth place, respectively.
Friday: Ram Pride Day
Friday, Oct. 11, was the day of the Pep Rally, where students wore either blue or white Randolph shirts based on grade level. Freshman and seniors wore blue, while sophomores and juniors wore white.
Seniors for the Win
By the time the Pep Rally started on Friday afternoon, sophomores had the most participation points for the week, with juniors close behind. Freshman remained in last place, with seniors ahead of them in third. However, the seniors were able to make a comeback at the Pep Rally, launching them into first place to end the contest.
