The Randolph Boys Varsity Soccer team is gearing up for the fall 2024 season, with anticipation and excitement building from players and fans alike.
“Our goal is to finish with the best record and win both counties and states,” senior co-captain Jayden DeCarvalho commented. “We want to be dominant, especially in the NJAC.”
Last season, the team rode a roller coaster of wins and losses, ending with a 9-9 record. After experiencing close games during the whole season, the Rams were able to make it to the NJSIAA Quarterfinals.
This season, all eyes are on the talented roster of players, which includes key team veterans. Returning starting seniors, such as Bryan Garcia, Jack Lachanski, David Martinez and DeCarvalho, are ready to make a significant impact in their final season on the field.
The team is looking to build on last year’s solid performance and move to the top of the scorers in their division this year. Co-captains DeCarvalho and junior RJ Dougherty are ready to lead their teammates with a solid combination of experience and inspiration.
In addition to strong guidance from the captains, the skill of the returning players—including seniors Tommy LaDieu and Sebastian Henao; juniors Gavin Vichengrad, Dougherty, Jared Goldschmidt and Jake Rubin; and sophomore Andrei Nitulescu—and promising new recruits combine to set a strong foundation for the season.
The team will face some of their biggest rivals, including Mendham and Delbarton, but have been training hard to take them on.
The Rams kick off their season @ Mount Olive today, Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 4:00 pm.
