The high school’s beloved annual Pep Rally was postponed from today, Friday, Oct. 20 to Monday, Oct. 23, due to heavy rainfall that would have turned the event into a wash out.
Moving the pep rally date is highly unusual, as the event has proceeded as scheduled on Friday, the last day of Spirit Week, for more than 10 years, according to some RHS teachers.
Rescheduling the Pep Rally did not affect the dress theme for the final day of Spirit Week, however, and students still came to school in droves of blue and white.
“This wasn’t an easy decision to make,” Dean of Students Lindsay Reilly said. “But in order to have the traditional activities happen, it made the most sense to reschedule it to Monday.”
The Pep Rally is a joyful event that occurs at the tail end of each Spirit Week. It brings together the entire school population at Bauer Field to enjoy time with friends, partake in light sporting events, and watch members of the dance department perform, among many other events, all while celebrating the hardy spirit of the Randolph Rams.
All aspects of the Pep Rally are scheduled to take place as usual on Monday, including the announcement of the overall grade-level winner of Spirit Week, for participating in dress-up days, fundraising events, and school-based events like RAMily Feud.
The forecast for Monday is sunny and warm, so all are anticipating a fun and successful Pep Rally.
